Parade Mounted Cross of Honor With Swords 1914-1918

Instituted in July of 1934 by von Hindenburg to recognize service in WWI. It ranked beneath bravery awards but above other service and campaign awards.

Die struck, magnetic sheet metal award with a bronze wash. The cross has a plain reverse with embossed manufacturer’s logo. The medal comes mounted with its original ribbon over a metal plate. The reverse of the plate is covered with red wool cloth. Attachment pin and hook intact to the reverse.

 

The medal has some Surface rust. Besides that more or less all bronze coat finish all intact.

 

Perfect to display on an early dress tunic!!
