Heer Infantry Officer's M38 Overseas Cap

High quality private purchase M38 pattern cap. Constructed of field-grey, light weight cotton. Cap has fold down side and back panels with scalloped slopes to the forward side panels. The crown edge and the forward scalloped side panels are both piped in bright, silver/aluminum braiding. The front center of the cap has a NCO/Officer BEVO produced national eagle in bright silver/aluminum wire threads with mounted on a cut out green badge cloth base. The front center of the fold down panels has a visor cap type national tri-color cockade. Both the eagle and the cockade are neatly hand sewn to the cap. The cockade is flanked by a white rayon soutache. The soutache is applied in the proper manner being machine sewn in place and inserted through small puncture holes at the seam near the bottom edge of the cap. The interior of the cap is fully lined in green rayon. Full and complete leather sweatband. Lining has a faint size mark “57” which also is the size of the cap.

The cap is in very good condition with light signs of use. No holes, rips or mendings, only light soiling from wear.

Close to impossible to upgrade this beautiful Infantry Officer’s m38 cap!!
