Heer Infantry Officers Visor Cap, Scarce Maker

Officers visor cap made of finest field-grey doeskin type cloth with white wool piping. Piping denots service in Infantry  branch. Officers bullion eagle and wreath/cocade at front as well as Officers heavy aluminium/silver chincord.

 

Inside is lined in a golden rayon cloth material.  Sweat shield is present to 99% but has a crack to it. The maker mark is clearly readable and reads “ESO Mützen, E.Schlüter nachf, inh Christian Krause u söhne, Göttingen, Markt 16/17, Gegrundet 1751” (A really old high quality cap maker). Lining is slightly stained from use. Brown swatband with ventilation holes at front and orange foam sponge on inside show matching wear. Sweatband has first owners initials to it “W S” backside of sweatband has no markings.

 

Cap is in a Very good, still used condition having chafewear on outside, the cloth has also become sunfaded. It show wear but has no wear holes, rips, tears or mothing
