Heer M40 Single Decal Combat Helmet Q64, Family Purchased

Combat steel helmet with rough field-grey paint remains to approx 99%. Heer decal is present to 90%. Inside complete with original liner, size 57 which is in very good condition, drawstring is still in place. Left inside is maker marked and size “Q64” . The reverse interior neck guard apron is serial number marked “170”. Original chinstrap is present. The helmet was war-time repainted with field-grey paint with rough texture paint (for better camouflage and to prevent light deflection. The helmet is in very good condition, light and even signs of real use with one small dent to the forehead area. The rought paint texture gives this helmet a true front feeling and look.

 

This helmet was purchased from the widow of a car mechanic in Sweden. The workshop he worked at was on the border with Finland. One day a Finnish ambulance came in with battle wounds. In the ambulance was this helmet, which was taken as a souvenir.
