Heer Pioneer Gefreiter's M42 Field Tunic

Field-grey wool construction, issue tunic, six button front closure with a single metal hook and eye positioned at the neckline. The field blouse has four, non-pleated, front pockets with scalloped edged button down flaps. Machine sewn to the collar is general issue collar tabs. Above the right chest pocket is a national eagle in grey thread on field-grey rayon. The eagle is both hand and machine sewn in place and is original to the tunic. Slipped and buttoned in place to each shoulder is a field-grey shoulder straps with black rayon piping. Slided in place to each strap is a unit cloth cypher which reads: “F 82”. To the left sleeve is a gefreiters chevron and a pioneer signal insignia neatly hand sewn in place. To the left breast pocket is award loops sewn for one award. Above the same pocket is a Iron Cross second class ribbon pinned in place to two sewn loops. Inside is clearly size marked as well as year of production marked “43” for 1943. Medic pocket still intact. Medic pocket is stamped with a faint RBnr. The tunic is in very good condition with signs of real use and age.
M42 tunics are getting harder and harder to find, especially a nice, untouched example as this one!!
