Heer / Waffen-SS Large Pouch, 18 Round Signal Flare Cartridge Box

Large size leather pouch for German flare pistol LP34, LP42 cartridges. The pouch is made of black Presstoff imitation leather, which is made from multiple layers of pressed paper. Germany ran into wartime shortages of leather goods, so the use of imitation leather and canvas allowed them to use leather only on items that absolutely required its use. The Preßstoff material was about the same rigidity as the hard leather used in most holsters and pouches and did not affect functionality. The box is maker marked stamped “cqr 41” for “Lederwerk Sedina Joachim Schell, Sportartikelfabrik Finkenwalde, Stettin” 41 is for year of production “1941”. Beside the maker mark we find a Waffenamt stamp. The box is complete with original leather carrying strap with blackened metal fittings. The strap is maker marked stamped “fug 1941” for “Cottbusser Lederwarenwerk Curt Vogel Cottbus”. The pouch is in very good condition, without any damage or mendings, only light signs of real use and age.
