Iron Cross 1'st Class 1939 Screw Back version Maker Marked L59

1939 pattern high quality, die struck three piece, iron and silver alloy construction Pattée style cross with a single piece iron core and a two piece silver alloy frame. Reverse is complete with screw back fastening device. Reverse is also stamped with manufacturer’s LDO code: “L59” indicating manufacture by “Alois Rettenmaier”. The cross is in good condition and retains most of the black paint to the Iron core. The cross has been worn and has a really nice age patina.
