Japanese WWII Type 98 Captain's Tunic with Loops for a Ribbon Bar
Japanese WWII Type 98 Captain’s Tunic with Loops for a Ribbon Bar
A typical officer’s high-grade tailored tunic made from olive drab colored wool. The tunic comes from an originally-sewn Captain’s collar tabs of pre-1943 regulation which were nevertheless worn toward the end of the war. It has original three place medal bar loops on the left chest. All gold-colored metal buttons are present and original to the tunic. Metal collar hooks are intact and can hook up the collar. The interior has a full lining which is undamaged but shows slight discoloration from use. Though it is complete and has no repair or rips from use, the tunic shows some moderate wear overall. Unfortunately, due to a postwar unfavorable storage condition, there are a few moth holes of about one-centimeter diameter that are concentrated under the right arm. This damaged area is mostly covered by the sleeve and is not really visible to a frontal/side view.
(the medal bar photographed with the tunic is not included. It’s sold separately!!)
All in all a great tunic which will display great with a medal bar!!
