Russian WWII Garde Border Patrool Boat Unit Captain's Summer Tunic

Introduced by order of the People’s Commissar of Defense of the USSR for the Red Army No. 51 of february 15, 1943.
“Rules for wearing uniforms of the Red Army and Red Fleet”

 

This tunic was used by a NKVD marine border patrool boat’s officer. Single-breasted tunic made of white colored light weight cotton. The collar is upright, fastens with two metal hooks. Five button closure. Sleeves with straight cuffs. To each shoulder is m43 type epaulette with one larger star to each ,made of metal and pinned in Place. The reverse of the epauletts is size marked “3” for size 3.
Ribbon bar pinned in place with following awards: Two Order of the Red Banner, Medal for Combat Merit and Medal For the Defense of Leningrad.

 

The tunic is in very good condition. Possibly used only a couple of times. The white cotton is free from stains and has no mendings or damage.

 

Hard to find any Garde related, even more so a tunic in very good condition from a rather scarce branch of service!!
