Waffen-SS EM/NCO Belt Buckle, Marked RZM 36/38 SS

Natural Aluminum construction. The reverse is maker marked in high relief: “RZM 36/38 SS” this indicates it was produced by Overhoff “36” in the year 1938. The badge has a shrapnel damage with the shrapnel piece still stuck in the buckle! The shrapnel fragment is made of ferrous metal. Front of the buckle shows clear signs of wear.

Very interesting, “one of a kind” belt buckle which probably saved the wearers life back in the day!!
