Waffen-SS Schalburg Corps Cufftitle

The Schalburg Corps was the branch of the Germanic SS. Named after Christian Frederik von Schalburg, commander of the Freikorps Danmark who was KIA. The Danish Germanic SS was formed on 2nd February, 1943. On 30 March, 1943 the Danish Germanic corps was renamed “Schalburg Korps”. According to a Danish source August 1943, the Schalburg Corp was assigned to the SS and was trained for combat. Members of the Corps were used as a Guard Battalion to protect railroads and crossroads from sabotage. The Schalburg Corps was disbanded on 28 February 1945.

 

The Schalburg cuff band was worn by Staff, NCO School, Guard Co and Landstormen of the Schalburg Corps. The Schalburg is machine woven BeVo style. The obverse and reverse has white woven gothic letters and white upper and lower edge all on black rayon material. Typically for this cuff title, the ends are not machined. Length is 37.5cm. Slightly shortend example in good used condition with some wear to the edges.
