WWII Japanese Named Army Warrant Officer's Tunic with a Madal Bar Loop

350.00

A tailor-made all-season type army officer’s tunic with a full silk lining. It has a name tag with the name: “Kawamoto” (川本)machine-sewn to the inside. He was a warrant officer, as evident with a set of standard late war Army Warrant Officer’s collar tabs and machine-sewn cloth sleeve tapes indicating the warrant officer rank. (The warrant officer’s sleeve tape is narrower than that of the officer’s and the warrant officer’s collar tab has no metals stars attached on the front of the tab.) All tunic buttons are present but many of them look replaced, possibly war-time since it’s a well used tunic and the buttons shows matching age and wear. There are some spots of light scratches from use, but neither moth damage nor any other major damage are seen. Overall, the tunic is a very nice, still well used example.

The ribbon bar loops and loops for medals are present and original to it, but neither medals nor a ribbon bar come with the tunic. However, you can mount whatever medals your own or even a heavily-decorated medal bar, as shown in the pictures. Tunics with medal loops are quite scarce and attractive. They are very popular among collectors, as they look great with decorations.

A very desirable tunic for your medal bar display!!
