WWII Red Army Navy Air Force Leutnant's Tunic

Single-breasted cloth tunic for the command staff of the Red Army Navy, model 1934. Departmental standard VST No. SH-26, People’s Commissariat of the Navy, 1940.
The tunic is constructed of navy blue wool. Five buttom front closure. The buttons are made of brass with an anchor in high relief. Low standing neck with two metal hooks for closure. Four pockets all with scalloped edges. To the upper left sleeve is a flight officer’s insignia. The insignia is made of heavy golden bullion threads with red star in cotton threads to the center. All embroidered on navy blue cloth. The insigna is neatly hand sewn in place. To each lower cuff is a rank bar for Leutnant neatly hand sewn in place. Above the rank bar is a rank star in golden bullion with metal center, also neatly hand sewn in place. Inside is fully lined in black cotton. The tunic has holes made for two awards and we can clearly see the “ghost” lines from the awards to the inside lining. The tunic is in good, still used condition. No damage or mendings. Only a couple of smaller moth bites are visable.

This type of tunic was not produced after 1943, rare to find on todays market and very desirable among collectors!!
