WW2 Japanese Army Named NCO or Officer's Leather Map Case

185.00

An Army issue map case commonly seen used by an officer or an NCO in command. It measures 26cm in height, 21cm in width, and 5cm in thickness. It has a metal hook on the back which is meant to be hung on the waist belt. It has a large brass Army star affixed on the front of the lid. The leather is pliable and the metal parts are in fully working condition. There are some wear on the leather but it should look better by treatment. There is a handwriting on the back of the lid which says: “Kasahara Regiment” (笠原部隊), “Shimizu Platoon”(清水隊), and “Genzo Suzuki” (鈴木源蔵). The original owner’s name “Genzo Suzuki” (鈴木源蔵) also appears on the back of the map case.

Very hard to find a better example!!
