WWII Japanese Army Second Lieutenant’s Type 98 Summer Tunic and Pants Set

495.00

A standard officer’s spare tunic and pants set that was sold at a shop during the war. The tunic is made of light wool and has a partial silk lining. A cotton collar liner and a pair of second lieutenant’s collar tabs are still attached to the collar. The tunic is slightly wrinkled and has a few tiny holes, indicating a light use. The tunic has only a couple of one millimeter size moth holes on the wool. The near absence of moth damage is probably one of the most attractive features of this tunic, as almost all summer wool clothing on market suffer moth damage. The cloth tags only indicates its size, which is “5,” and not the owner’s name.

The matching pants that accompanies the tunic appears to be unworn. The material are identical but the color of the trousers retains the green tint that characterizes the standard wool cloth in minty condition. All buttons and strings are present. Again, the pants are totally free from moth damage, which is a rare occasion for summer wool pants.

It is a rare chance to acquire a matching set of a tunic and pants which belonged to the same officer!!
