WWII Japanese Army Captain's Type 3 Summer Wool Tunic

375.00

A scarce type 3 Captain’s tunic in light-weight wool. It has a pair of Captain’s collar tabs and sleeve insignia consisting of 3 bullion rank stars and officers tresse all which are 100% original. The buttons and collar hooks are also intact but show some signs of age and rust. It still has a detachable collar with a stamp of “Kaikosha” (偕行社) Army Veteran Relief Organization, which produced and sold various goods at a PX in an Army garrison during the war. The tunic has no maker tag but is definitely one of the typical ready-made army clothing available at every army contract surplus supplier in those days. Unfortunately, the name tag is missing as the veteran family removed it when they let go of the tunic. It is lightly worn and is actually in good condition. It is without stains or damage except a few tiny holes on the back and on the left sleeve.

It is a cool late war field-worn example of rare type 3 Captain’s tunic which is very desirable and popular among collectors!!
