WWII Japanese Army Captain's Type 98 Tunic with a Five-place ribbon bar

425.00

A wartime standard officer’s tunic made from a thick olive drab wool. It came with a set of Type 98 Army Captain’s collar tabs and a five place ribbon bar which consists of an Order of the Rising Sun Medal ribbon, a Sacred Treasure medal ribbon, a Showa Grand Enthronement, Commemorative Medal ribbon, 1937-1945 China Incident War Medal Ribbon and a Red-Cross, Special Membership Medal ribbon. The tunic is well worn with a few tears and repair patches on the silk lining. However the tunic was not abused and is in complete condition. The outside appearance is perfect and even without moth damage. There is the officer’s sir name (“Kinohara” 木ノ原) machine-embroidered on the silk lining. All the buttons, collar hooks, etc are present. The second front button is replaced, which appears to have been done wartime.

An awesome looking tunic of a field officer who went to fight in China and made it back alive!!
